Devanahalli is Urban or Rural

Devanahalli is an urban Town Municipal Council (TMC) in Karnataka's Bangalore Rural district, governing 23 city wards with a 2026 population of 41,000 people. Located 35 kilometers north of central Bengaluru on Highway 44, this former farm area is now a busy city hub. While Devanahalli Taluk still has 218 quiet villages, local town offices run the main town and its suburbs as a full city zone.
The airport authority (BIAAPA) plans over 734 square kilometers around Kempegowda International Airport. This group turns old fields into factories, offices, and homes. With the KIADB Aerospace Park, big tech hubs, and new roads, Devanahalli acts as an urban town rather than a rural village.
